Course d’ânes / Donkey Race! {Ardèche}

In my previous travel post, I mentioned that we stayed in a town called Laurac-en-Vivarais for a weekend earlier this month to visit various towns of Ardèche with friends, including the new Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc Cave. Well, there was also a funny event happening while we were staying in Laurac-en-Vivarais right in front of our house: a donkey race. Yes, a donkey race where one can place bets! I tried to do some research to find more info, but had no luck. I suppose it is a traditional event that takes place each year. I’m not sure. What I am sure of, however, is that I have plenty of fun photos to share with you!

    La Grenobloise,

    I’m wondering whether you/ I could talk about VSArt, the association I run in Grenoble to bring cultural activities to the disadvantaged. We’re always looking for new volunteers at rentrée time. My phone number is 06 74 50 67 40 if we could have a chat, or if any of your readers are interested in joining VSArt for occasional (or regular) involvement. Many of our volunteers are internationals. Great way to meet locals and to practise French or English…. while helping the elderly, the less fortunate…. Have a look at the website http://www.vsart.org/implantations/grenoble.htm
    You have a great BLOG. Thank you !!
    Meredith
