The Rest

Today I received a brilliant Christmas gift from my parents in New York: a Kindle! After almost 7 months in France I have not visited La bibliothèque internationale nor the English Library of Meylan because of inconvenience, etc. I come from a generation “of screens” and finally with the Kindle I will be reading often! It’s important that it’s so small and lightweight that I can easily carry it in my purse. It’s as if my parents had read my mind. B.R.I.L.L.I.A.N.T.

yay!! finally I can catch up on my reading!

a book in French that assists to further French language competence called “La Vie Celibataire”

Et j’ai une carte cadeau! And I have a gift card!

Haha merci copine! The candy canes were on the table and yes, I just had to include them in the shot! ha (it was actually a quick camera-phone pic for my mom that I sent right away after opening it!)

ps- I realized that in my xmas tree pic that it was missing candy canes! I’ll have to remember this for next year. candy canes in the US are like the equivalent to the révillon papillotes in France!

Profites-bien de tes vacances  à NY avec ton chéri! xo

I didn’t know what a révillon papillotes was, I had to ask Seb…I’m a bad expat sometimes!

Happy New Year to you! : )

Thanks Jules! Yes, a lot of good eating (as you saw in the food post- thanks for liking my entries!) and playing with adorable little French kids; missing them already! I hope you had a good one!

Hi Andromeda, thanks for commenting! Yes such a perfect gift; and a plus is that there are so many cafés and tea rooms to choose from in my neighborhood (literally a handful on my block alone!) to sit and read. Now I can look forward to my next TGV ride to Paris haha.
